点评:I was told by American Express credit card service that the monthly bill payment could be settled at any HSBC bank or at their ATM service centres, even if one does not have an HSBC bank account. Sadly, it is totally incorrect! I tried unsuccessfully at HSBC'S ATM, and therefore went upstairs to the enquiry desk at the main building in Central. I was attended to by a female front desk employee and thence explained the information to her stating clearly I did not have an HSBC account but would like to settle my American Express credit card bill, whether it was possible. She subsequently said yes and pointed me to the middle section of the deposit area to queue and to pay cash there. After two hours standing in the very slow moving queue, I got to the deposit desk and the male employee told me they cannot take cash or cheques to settle American Express credit card bills, it is purely for HSBC account holders, he was super polite, and what he said made sense. I was very upset with the enquiry desk person who gave answers even though she was not clear on the answer, giving the impression she preferred to continue to chitchat with her colleagues. For such a prestigious bank, I was incredibly unimpressed by the lack of training or care for clients/ potential clients. To senior management of HSBC: please review the service of the bank overall if you wish to continue being a successful bank, account holders were very upset with the service desk over other inquiries and the very slow services.
