点评:Located in a suburb of Nairobi, on the site of Karen Blixen's farm, famous from the book and film Out of Africa, the museum is owned and operated by the Kenyan Government. Visitors are led by a tour guide who tells the story of Karen Blixen (Isaak Dineson), her home and the area.
The admission process is awkward, as are all Kenya National Museums, due to their requirements to fill out online forms, pay online, etc. Be prepared to spend at least 5 minutes buying a ticket.
The guides are young folks and vary a lot in their communication skills. You get your own guide whether you are one person or in a group. Sadly my guide was hard to understand (and I am familiar with East African accents) and even when I asked him to speak louder (hearing issues on my part), It didn't really work. So that was my bad luck, not totally the fault of the museum.
It was interesting to see the artifacts and layout and you could imagine her life there. I didn't know how revered she was in Denmark (two stamps and a bank note!), and what a good artist she was - several of her paintings are on display. So it was a positive experience overall.
I won't say it was a must-see tour unless you have a strong attachment to her story. I am glad they preserved that history.
