点评:We visited downtown Banff on 17 August and spent around half a day exploring the town. We decided to stay in Canmore rather than Banff, and after visiting, we were really glad we made that decision.
It was nice to revisit Banff, but it has changed a lot since our last visit. What was once a lovely mountain town now feels very commercialized and touristy. Many of the shops seemed much the same, and although there’s plenty to browse, we found it a little repetitive. The Christmas Shop is definitely a must-visit and was one of the highlights of our wander around town.
We arrived early and managed to grab the last available free parking spot, so I’d recommend getting there early if you’re hoping to find parking without paying.
Banff is certainly worth visiting to explore the shops, enjoy the mountain-town setting and see what the town has to offer. However, for us, half a day was enough, and we were happy to head back to Canmore. Personally, I wouldn’t choose to stay in Banff, as I prefer the atmosphere of Canmore.
I’m glad we visited, but it was disappointing to see how much the town has changed and become so commercialised over the years.
