点评：I don't think you can go to Cape Town without visiting Robben Island it is such an important place in human history. Tickets cost 600 Rand each for International Adults including ferry transport and guided tour. It was unsurprisingly busy when we went so be prepared to queue for the ferry. On arrival at the island you are taken on a bus tour to see some of the major sites as of course the island wasn't just an Apartheid era prison. Once that part of the tour was over we were dropped off at the prison to meet our guide Max who had been imprisoned at Robben Island for 5 years, his story was awful but incredibly powerful to listen to it was truly an honour to be in his presence. After telling his story he took us to Nelson Mandela's cell and took us through some more stories of daily life on the island before we headed back to the ferry. The only downside of our visit was the lack of respect from others on our tour sat on their phones, talking while Max was, it's a trend I've noticed over the last few years at similar places Auschwitz to name one, I believe everyone should visit these places but please treat them with the respect they deserve not just go for your selfie and the fake concern.
