点评：Nice market with plenty of items of all kinds for tourists and locals. The one thing I noticed in Papeete was when using your credit card, this market, as well as pharmacies and eateries claim your credit card was denied. You cannot read Tahitian writing that shows on the screen that would inform a customer their card was denied because of the language. So, I fell for that 6 times the same day and paid them cash after the card was denied. I got back to our hotel and went online to the credit card company and tracked my purchases and there they all were. Valid Charges without any problems. I even checked my email as I always get an email from Citi-Card warning I had a charge denied and they want to know if I really made the charge. NOTHING in my email. It was a scam. And these were all authorized businesses that did this including the Municipal Market. They know exactly what they are doing. They know you can't read the language on the credit card machine, clearly stating the charge was approved, but telling you it was denied to get cash as well. Watch out and don't use your credit card anywhere in Tahiti. Use Cash Only! Also VERY IMPORTANT! Brings lots of $5, $10 bills with you so you can buy simple items. They rob you on the exchange rate and change given. The Tahitian money is very simple to do the math. If something is $3000 Tahitian, REMOVE 2 ZEROS to convert to US Dollars. $3000 = $30 US dollars. Unless you know that, you will rarely get that good of a rate from anyone, especially taxi drivers.
