点评：This was the worst value for money of any place we've been to on any summer holiday. Astronomical parking, very little play value, and a charge for absolutely everything.
Parking- three times more expensive than Willen Lake in MK, which is fairly notorious for being pricey. More per hour than most inner city parking! Long queues for paying (for anything) means you'd better allow an extra 30 minutes parking fee just to queue.
Play value - walk a very long way for a very small amount of play. We tried to do the short play trail, but the available map is mislabelled. This means we missed the thing we really wanted to go on and walked nearly half a mile to do a small climbing frame and 'woodland scramble' (some balance beams and rope). The park areas that don't require lots of walking are only really appropriate and fun for small children. The older park area has 4 baby swings, a nest swing and no normal swings. All the climbing frames were small. Almost none of the play was interesting or a challenge for my 8yo, and the walking was too much for my 4yo.
Marble trail - this was really fun; well designed in places but frustrating in others. My kids stayed for a long time at each of the 5 available runs, but again, not a lot of value for half a mile of walking uphill. There were two people serving on a nice Sunday in August, so it was a 15 minute queue to get a single ball. The £8 charge for a ball would be easier to swallow if I didn't have to pay the same amount in parking. We won't be coming back again.
We would have liked to combine the play trail and marble run to reduce the walking, but a map is £2 and doesn't include the marble run. There was barely any sign posting to the marble run from the information centre and I was told to "just follow the crowds" which led us to the end of the trail.
The whole thing feels like a money grab, rather than a genuine attempt to engage people in conservation or in being outside. We went to Aston Clinton park after, which is lovely, free and accessible.
