You can wander around Napier but if into Art Deco maybe take tour / download map

点评：I am into Art Deco architecture so I was looking forward to Napier which had been rebuilt in the 1930s. It took us a while to find a car park with appropriate parking periods and then we walked around Napier looking for Art Deco buildings. We found quite a few but I think, if you are interested, the Art Deco tour or the download-for-purchase map, will ensure you see more of them than us and, even more, understand them!
We walked along Marine Parade to see the Colonnade and Plaza as well as other Art Deco buildings such as the Six Sisters houses (some, we think, have been repainted since the last tourism photos so we are not 100% sure). We could also see the sunken garden along Marine Parade before finishing up at the National Aquarium of New Zealand. To get the most out of Napier it probably pays to take some tours as our wanderings left me a bit dissatisfied. Nice restaurants (e.g. Mexicali) though.
