点评：Before we left Napier we spent about an hour at the New Zealand National Aquarium which opens at 9 am. It is fairly compact aquarium so we easily completed it within about an hour. They recommend starting at the top and walking down from there and that worked for us. There are both stairs and lifts.
There is an oceanarium and oceanarium tunnel to see stingrays and fish feeding. There are three reef exhibits with puffer fish, turtles and crayfish. The "our oceans exhibit" is a display of the various oceans not just those around NZ and also a flooded forest exhibit with pacu fish and an ancient life exhibit about dinosaurs. We saw terrapin in the warmer waters section which includes tropical fish and had a chance to see tuatara (we had missed out seeing them in other places that had them) and kiwis in their habitat.
We caught the little penguin feeding show at 9:30am - they are so cute - and the commentary was engaging. These are rescued penguins that would not survive in the wild and the staff have had a chance to really know their personalities. You can see them swimming in their tanks beforehand and afterwards.
