The coolest spot in town for vibes and programmes!

点评：I've visited Trencin, the European Capital of Culture 2026 and this was the hottest venue in town, when it comes to programme and vibes.
My weekend gateway took place in early March and I was lucky to catch this amazing festival Women In Arts, for which I even extended my visit by an extra night. The female lineup included the fantastic South African rapper Yugen Blakrok, dreamy/melancholic Norwegian folk-indie band ULD and some decent artists from the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Apart from live music, the programme included interesting lectures, discussions , a theatre show, stand-up comedy, an art exhibition and several workshops with international lecturers. Thankfully, the foreign visitors could pick the translation headphones for some discussions - but not for all the lectures, which is something to improve on this otherwise perfect little festival.
I also took a tour of the venue with an attentive member of staff. I've learnt that they also have cool Fablab workshops as well as a rather advanced photo studio, 3D printers, video editing stations and other technologies. Their programmes apparently focus primarily on the performance arts as well as educational workshops aimed at creative people in order to help them to grow their businesses. Amazing, isn't it?
I've also learnt that the 3rd edition of the Women In Arts festival will take place again in early March next year and I already checked that in my calendar! FYI – this event wasn’t even listed on the Trencin 2026 website for some reason, so make sure you also check www.hviezda.eu website.
