点评：Truly a five-star visit. My family has toured numerous historic sites across the country, ranging in significance from international to local, and all factors considered, this was one of our most enlightening and enjoyable experiences ever. The content included the requisite historical facts and figures to provide context, but focused on the day-to-day lives and experiences of the enslaved residents and their neighbors. The educator at each stop was passionate about their content, yet presented same in a conversational, non-overwhelming manner, offering demonstrations and even providing hands-on opportunities where the subject matter permitted. Perhaps most telling, the 1 hr 45 minute duration of the tour absolutely flew by! The experience left us wanting to know more about the Philipse family through reading and at some point visiting the Philipse Manor Hall site in Yonkers on our next trip to the NYC area.
