点评:Enjoyed our visit today, the perfect place to get out of the snow for a while. We were very lucky as one of the cruise ship guides was taking her group around the museum so we benefitted from her vast knowledge on Polar history.
The main downstairs was the fact that most of the descriptions were in Norwegian, with only a very few with English and German translations. You're given an A4 printed explanation of the museum and the various items in each room - a very poor substitute for having transaction labels beside each artifact. Surely an easy and cheap improvement to make?
The Museum is a little dated, but the story is good (better with translations on the labels). We carried our jackets around with us as there is no real cloakroom available, just a few pegs which were completely inadequate for the number of people there.
All in a good enough experience, made much better by the cruise ship guides sharing her knowledge. Perhaps the museum management could offer their own guide service and, at the very least, translate all of the labels into English/German and whatever other languages which commonly visit.
