点评：We went on this steam train as we had booked up the Christmas light show. It’s a lovely quaint station, looking like an action from years ago would look. It had original advertising, old seats, with many original features.
The cafe served mulled wine plus snacks. The lights were on the outside off the train, so you see this reflecting onto the countryside as you go along. There are some lights on the verges as you go by.
They were also celebrating their 50th year, so there was lots of talk about this in the running commentary on the train. They played Christmas sings on the way back, which was nice to sing along to.
I did think they could have concentrated on the Christmas of the things as it is advertised as a Christmas activity. They spoke a lot about the 50th birthday, but people were there to see lights and celebrate Christmas.
So I was a little bit disappointed, but we enjoyed the train ride. I wonder if it would more Christmassy if it was not celebrating their special birthday.
It is worth a visit, the kids loved it on the train, seeing the smoke going past and hearing the whistle.
