点评：Played the course 05/10/26 as a solo golfer.
First of all the friendlyness and welcome from booking staff, pro shop staff, door staff at entrance to the clubhouse, starter and bar staff was top notch and I was made me feel very welcome. Everyone treated me like a member and was happy to chat to me. Trust me this does not happen very often at big clubs where the Open has been played, especially if you are a solo golfer.
Onto the course was really looking forward to playing it and it didn't disappoint. Unusual for a championship layout with the par 3 start but it is not that easy as my 6 iron found the left bunker. This was one of the few bunkers that I managed to get out of fairly easily. Enjoyable front 9 and then the back 9. Found a lot of bunkers on the back 9 some of which are brutal but gives you a really stern test. Your driving has to be on it from the tee. Avoided all 17 bunkers down the 18th and finished with a nice par. Superb finishing hole with the historic clubhouse behind. Greens in immaculate condition.
Clubhouse itself is impressive and some great golf history upstairs so don't miss that.
