Highland Park Distillery的点评
点评：Visiting Scotland and not visiting a scotch distillery, and visiting Orkney without visiting the famous Highland Park Distillery? :)
We did enjoy the tour (we did the Welcome Experience), we did enjoy all of them really out of 7 we de did but I have to say I was bombed out when we came here and there were was no barley on the floors :( it was one of the things I finally wanted to see as not too many of the places around Scotland still do it this way. The location is pretty unique to be honest as it's at the very end of a fairly residential neighborhood, on a hill.
You start with a sample, and then end up with 2 more at the very end - you get to keep the glasses. The gift shop is fairly modest, if you are looking for something smaller to "take with you" there is one mini version in a cool "case" - but for 65 USD you may as well get yourself a nice bottle of whisky if that's too much for a souvenir
They had some whisky ice cream collaboration during our April visit - the Orkney Ice Cream is amazing already so add whisky to it and make it even better :)
It is worth mentioning, they are one of the 3 companies with the same ownership together with Macallan - something I have learned on the spot and made perfect sense to me as this is in a way the smoky whisky answer to the non-smoky Macallan, both aged in sherry casks
