点评:In dolphin-speak their melon is the bump on their forehead used for echolocation. We learnt this, and many other really interesting facts at Monkey Mia from the fabulous widlife carers there. However we still have reservations about the considerable human interaction and hand feeding which is a risk to wild cetaceans. It's a great day out though. Informative, fun, and for a low entry cost of $10 (concession). There is a huge cafe there (coffee anyone), bar, souvenir shops, and grocery. Our recommendation though would be to get there later, rather than really early. Hand feeding begins at 7.45 if dolphins are present, but the crowd pretty quickly disperses and you can get a better personal interaction (without the crowds) on the seond or third feeding later.
