Pouakai Track & Tarn day out.
Message home to eldest son.
We are ruined 😂😂
Your daft mother didn’t really listen to your brothers description of our day out yesterday, “ So your ok with going up steps for a couple of hours and back again, you sure ? “
Me … Yeah, I’m sure 👍🏻
Husband ( Steve ) totally un aware of this conversation.
Off we go,
Worst decision ever.
Vile from start to end, if we didn’t laugh we’d of cried all the way.
Going up,
I could hear my heart pounding in my ears, so loud and fast I thought they would pop.
We had to stop loads till that subsided ( not your bro he was fine )
When we eventually reached the top it was cloudy as, so no fantastic reflection in the Tarns, which is the aim of the whole chuffing thing.
Then we had to come back down.
Surely easy as 😳
Not.
Coming back down even with sticks was horrific, our knees and hips wouldn’t move without what felt like red hot pokers being stabbed in them.
What a muppet, why in gods name I thought it was a good idea ( two average fit, 59 yr old’s ) is beyond me 😂😂 xx
Having said all that, long as know your own limits definitely a beautiful breathtaking mountain hike.

Pouakai
