The Basílica Cisterna is a fantastic experience and absolutely worth visiting.
Access can be a bit slow due to the line to enter, but once inside, that inconvenience quickly disappears. You are given full access to the space, and the atmosphere is stunning. The cistern is very well preserved, thoughtfully restored, and beautifully lit, which really enhances the scale and mystery of the place.
One detail that stood out to me: I remembered the Medusa heads from a previous visit as looking greenish, almost covered with algae. Now they are clean and clearly visible, which makes them even more impressive and easier to appreciate.
Overall, the site feels well cared for and respectfully presented, allowing visitors to enjoy it fully without unnecessary restrictions. A unique and memorable experience, and one of the highlights of Istanbul.
