点评:We have been coming to this winery from Chicago for at least 20 years. Its scenic location and architecture makes one feel they are in Sonoma, California. In previous trips, we would bring our own charcuterie, wine glasses, dishes and placemats, purchase several bottles of wine, and enjoy the beauty for hours. I'm not quite sure when they changed to a no outside food policy (I recognize it could have been a few years ago), but it has soured any thoughts of returning. It is also a short-sided policy that fails to realize the monetary potential of embracing outside food. Typically, when a winery restricts outside food, it is because they want you to purchase their own. However, the food selection at Wollersheim is sub-par at best as it consists of low-end packaged items found in grocery stores. My suggestion would be to allow visitors to bring outside food provided a $15-$20 fee/table is paid. This would resemble a corkage fee at a restaurant. As a business, Wollersheim should be indifferent as to where the revenue is generated. But at least this would allow for greater flexibility. Unless and until this policy is changed, we will not be returning.
