A nice stop to learn more about Becky and Mark Twain's stories

点评：While visiting the Mark Twain attractions in Hannibal, we also stopped at Becky's Home, which is located directly across the street from the Mark Twain Boyhood Home Museum and the famous white fence where visitors can have their picture taken pretending to paint it. The home has been converted into a museum and contains a surprising number of displays inside. While only the downstairs and the courtyard behind the house are open to visitors, there is still quite a lot to see. Most of the exhibits are geared toward children with interactive displays and activities, but there is also plenty of information explaining Samuel Clemens, the characters from his stories, and the real girl who inspired Becky Thatcher. Even though it seemed to be designed more with families and younger visitors in mind, I still enjoyed walking through the house and reading about the connections between the real people of Hannibal and the fictional characters that became famous around the world. The displays are well done and help bring many of Mark Twain's stories to life. I found it to be a very nice follow-up to both the Mark Twain Museum and the Boyhood Home because each attraction tells a different part of the story. Together they give you a much better understanding of the author, his childhood, the people who inspired his writing, and the town that served as the setting for so many of his books. Overall, I thought Becky's Home was well worth the visit and would definitely include it as part of any tour of Hannibal's Mark Twain attractions. Enjoy!
