点评：The charming historic old town of Bratislava is a joy to explore. It is compact, easily walkable, rich in history, and best of all, without the crowds of other Central European cities such as Prague or Budapest. Situated near the mighty Danube River, the old town is anchored by the main square (Hlavne Namestie), and has all the features of a typical European old town - cobbled streets, historic cathedrals, a notable old town hall, pastel-hued Baroque buildings, and even a medieval city gate. Also located within the vicinity is the stately Bratislava Castle, majestically watching over the old town from atop the hill. With a rich history dating back to Roman medieval times, you will never be short of things to see and do. There are also numerous whimsical statues waiting to be discovered within the old town area; with the most famous being the Man at Work statue that goes by the name of Cumil. So, lose yourself to the labyrinths of narrow alleys and delightful squares with a surprise in store at every corner. After all, this is the political, social and cultural centre - the beating heart - of Slovakia's capital city.
