点评：Wilderness Safaris [www.Wilderness-Safaris.com] has the concession to operate safari camps in various African national parks in Botswana, Zimbabwe and Zambia.
They are required to hire local people in each area which allows you to get to know the culture and the individuals from the area villages. You are greeted on arrival and departure with local song and dance. The food is consistently 5 star. The staffs are 10 star. You can be on a balcony in one country and look across the Zambezi river into Namibia.
In keeping with park requirements, every element of the camp experience is based on conservation practices. It is glamping with a conscience. The game tour guides are exceptional in their skills.
I stayed at Makalolo Camp in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe area; Toka Leya Camp in Zambia area; Baobab 1 Camp in Botswana area; and Santawani Okavango Delta Camp in Botswana area. Since they are geographically connected, there are similarities but also definite difference in terrain, concentration of types of animals, foliage etc. We saw all of the Big 5, all of the Ugly 5, two of the Small 5 and two of the Shy 5, a gigillion other animals plus over 107 different bird species (we counted). I counted 107 members of a baboon troupe parading past my tent early one morning -- 8 had babies with two babies on top and the rest underneath nursing as the mothers walked by. It's just natural. Sometimes an elephant strolls by too.
There are numerous concessionaires and tour services in these areas but Wilderness is clearly the better choice. Keep in mind that responsible tourism such as Wilderness' ethics and practices provide much needed employment and living wages for economically stressed areas of the world. You also can buy local handcrafts such as basketry without having to go to a town.
