Mobula Divers Sibaltan Diving Center的点评
点评：I've been in Sibaltan for 4 days and made 12 dives with this shop. I've chosen Sibaltan because people on Reddit say diving here is better than El Nido. Didn't dive in El Nido so can't compare. But here diving is great. The chief attraction is manta site: 4 cleaning stations, during the season (starts at about 1 Mar) mantas are seen every day or almost every day, usually in the morning, rarely in the afternoon. I dove it 4 times: 3 mornings and 1 afternoon - saw mantas every morning but didn't see in the afternoon dive. But off season mantas can be absent for months, so don't go there outside of the season. Some of the other sites have really beautiful corals. Also they have a wonderful site called Shark Highway, it's a special excursion but it's worth it - we saw plenty of sharks and also fabulous corals.
There are 2 dive shops in Sibaltan: Mobula and Dive Sibaltan. Owner of Mobula told me that he and his partners owned Dive Sibaltan before and there was only their shop there, but then they decided to split up because his partners wanted to move to a larger place while he wanted to stay at the old location. So, TripAdvisor's old reviews for Dive Sibaltan are pretty much applicable to Mobula, too, since it's run by the person who ran Dive Sibaltan before and Mobula's shop was Dive Sibaltan before. Now Dive Sibaltan seems to get a lot less clients than Mobula. I've been on 6 dive trips and most times we saw either no boat from Dive Sibaltan, or on more busy days there were 2 boats from Mobula and 1 from Dive Sibaltan on the manta spot.
Before choosing dive shop I asked a number of questions to both Dive Sibaltan and Mobula in WhatsApp. Answers to most questions were identical, but here are the differences I found, based on which I chose Mobula:
1) Mobula has better food in the surface interval - usually Burgers (!!!), or banana bread which is quite filling, while Dive Sibaltan told me they provide only fruits and biscuits (I do like to have proper food between the dives),
2) Mobula owner told me I didn't have to transfer deposit to reserve fun dives, just tell them when I'll be there and then show up (check with owner if it's still true in your case though),
3) For some reason Dive Sibaltan said that Shark Highway can only be visited by Advanced divers, while Mobula says that Open Water level is enough. It's not deep so I agree with Mobula, not sure why Dive Sibaltan thinks this way,
4) Dive Sibaltan accepts credit cards, while Mobula - only Wise or PayPal.
Both companies are equally slow to respond in WhatsApp, takes them hours, so be patient.
My experience with Mobula has been very good overall. The owner is a very nice guy, funny and relaxed. Guides are also very nice people (all foreigners). They do point out the small stuff, as well as the large stuff (obviously). I've seen no problems with safety or anything else. However, if you want to dive there multiple days (as I did), be sure to inform them beforehand that you want to visit different dive sites, they might be able to accommodate you, or maybe not. They have about a dozen of sites, but their operation is tailored to people who dive with them only for one day, because majority of their clients stay in El Nido and it's hard to come to Sibaltan on multiple days (it's 1 hour of driving in one direction), and most clients just want to see the mantas. So they go to the manta point in both morning and afternoon trip. They have 2 trips: morning and afternoon, each makes 2 dives, it's possible to go on both trips on the same day, but each of these trips normally starts with manta point and the second one is often the same site called Wild Wild West. So, if you want to dive different places be sure to let them know. I did 12 dives with them and saw only 5 different spots.
One small strange issue: their mask cleaning solution is toothpaste (!). I've never seen this before. I wonder what made them choose such a substance which is hard to put on and even harder to clean from the mask properly. Usually all dive shops / boats I've been to use either baby shampoo, liquid soap or dishwasher liquid, all heavily diluted (like 1 : 20 or so), these are the best substances to clean mask with. Me and someone else experienced problems with mask fogging on the first day.
It seems, Mobula is not very good at upselling special trips. Shark Highway is a great dive site, but one guide said they haven't been there for months, as it requires 5 divers minimum. It's also possible to do night dives in Sibaltan. It seems most of their clients simply don't know about these: when I talked to other divers and told them about these options, they became interested, none knew about it before I told them. Nobody "sold" the trips to the people I talked to. We made the shark trip seemingly only because I knew about it beforehand. Mobula could sell these trips more if they mention it to everyone, or have printed information describing these in the shop. This would benefit everyone.
In 12 dives we saw: plenty of mantas, blue-spotted stingrays, some nudi branches, beautiful corals, plenty of sharks (only on the sharks trip), pufferfish, anemons, lionfish, turtles, batfish, moray eels, cuttlefish !!!

我在Mobula的体验总体来说非常好。老板人很好，风趣幽默，让人放松。导游也都很友善（都是外国人）。他们会指出各种小细节，当然也会指出各种大问题（当然）。我没有发现任何安全或其他方面的问题。但是，如果你想在那里潜水多日（就像我一样），一定要提前告知他们你想去不同的潜点，他们或许可以安排，也或许不行。他们有大约十几个潜点，但他们的运营模式是针对只潜水一天的顾客量身定制的，因为大多数顾客都住在爱妮岛，很难连续几天去西巴尔坦岛（单程开车要一个小时），而且大多数顾客只是想看看蝠鲼。所以他们早上和下午都会去蝠鲼点。他们有两次行程：上午和下午，每次潜水两次，可以在同一天进行两次行程，但每次行程通常都从蝠鲼点出发，第二次通常是同一个叫做Wild Wild West的地点。所以，如果你想去不同的地方潜水，一定要告诉他们。我和他们一起潜了12次，只看到了5个不同的地点。
