Breathtaking views of Mount Kazbegi

点评：We joined the two-day private “Kazbegi Explorer” tour operated by this company in late September. We first visited UNESCO World Heritage sites in ancient Mtskheta town and then traveled through the scenic Military Road, stopping by spots such as the Ananuri Fortress, the Zhinvali Reservoir, and the Georgia-Russia Friendship Monument along the route before arriving in Stepantsminda. On the second day, we visited places such as Dariali Monastery and the Gergeti Holy Trinity Church, and had a short hike to the Gveleti Waterfalls. The whole tour was fantastic, so it is difficult to choose one thing, but the morning view of Mount Kazbegi was simply breathtaking and particularly memorable. We were very lucky to have such nice weather.
Our driver Lasha was fantastic as well. He said he was a driver rather than a professional tour guide, but he had immense knowledge about history and those religious sites, which helped our understanding. He was very helpful and did his best to keep us comfortable all the time. He also had very good communication skills, and we enjoyed talking about many things such as history, culture, food, economy, and even our private matters. We could also say he is a skillful driver. At least we were able to come back to Tbilisi in one piece! Yes, we have to admit that his way of overtaking the endless line of trucks on the mountainous road was thrilling from our standard, but that should be normal in Georgia. And it added a little spice to our journey.
We can confidently say the tour company is trustworthy. At first we were a little warried because our driver misunderstood the itinerary and almost drove past Mtskheta, due to lack of internal communication, but he was quick to correct the course. Our coordinator Salome was reachable all the time and helpful too. Also, we forgot our personal belongings in the car when the tour finished, but on the following day they were safely delivered to our hotel. Thanks!
