点评：We came to TAM solely to see their Chihuly collection since Dale Chihuly grew up in Tacoma. Striking display of macchia and ikebana pieces lit up against the black background. Wish that the pieces in the display cases had open fronts to see and photograph those pieces better. In addition, set within an enclosed courtyard is an installation featuring more than 3 dozen colorful Niijima Float balls. Next we checked out the museum's display from their permanent collection. While I saw some works that I enjoyed and many that didn't move me, I wonder what else is in the collection that wasn't on display that day. We strolled through additional galleries to see contemporary art. Those dealing with glass were among the most interesting. Overall TAM has the Chihuly in its favor, but wish there a more permanent gallery for the permanent collection items as it felt pretty tentative and not as strong as I hoped it would be. 4 out of 5 solely on the Chihuly!
