中途喷泉盆地的点评
点评：Our second stop on the tour along the Grand Loop Road was at the Midway Geyser Basin. It was quite a walk from the parking lot to several interesting areas where we stopped to read informational plaques and take photos.
There are several steaming pools here in a relatively small place – the Opal Pool, the Turquoise Pool and the Excelsior Geyser. The water is always steaming or boiling and the overflowing acidic water empties into the Firehole River from the banks. From the bridge, this water looks so deceptively blue and inviting. But the signs warning people to stay away are everywhere.
We stayed on the marked pathway and saw a lone Bison in the meadow. Everyone quieted down and walked very slowly so as not to attract any attention.
The path alongside the river was flat and led to a boardwalk near the Grand Prismatic Spring. But on the recommendation of our guide, we turned left and followed the Fairy Falls Trail to the Overlook from where one can get the full effect of the dramatic beauty of the massive crater. The uphill path was a little slippery and steep in places, but we walked slowly and carefully. The view from there left us dumbfounded. The Grand Prismatic Spring is the third largest in the world measuring 200 to 330 feet across and glows in many colors of the rainbow. What a striking and stunning view and so worth the effort to get there.
This area is a huge draw for visitors, but there were less than a hundred people around us. Therefore, we were able to get uninterrupted photos of the fabulous Grand Prismatic Spring.
Absolutely a “Must Visit” area in Yellowstone.

沿河的小径十分平坦，一直通向大棱镜温泉附近的木栈道。不过，根据导游的建议……我们向左转，沿着“仙女瀑布小径”前行，最终抵达观景台。从那里可以尽情领略那个巨大火山口的壮丽景色。上坡路有些湿滑，部分路段也相当陡峭，但我们还是稳步而谨慎地前行。站在观景台上，眼前的景象让我们惊叹不已。大棱镜温泉是世界第三大温泉，直径达200至330英尺，泉水呈现出彩虹般的多种色彩。这景色真是令人震撼、美不胜收，不枉我们费劲爬上来一睹其风采。这一地区对游客极具吸引力，但我们周围的人却不到一百人。因此，我们得以毫无干扰地拍摄到壮丽的大棱镜温泉。
这绝对是黄石公园里“必游”之地。
