点评：We went to the Midway Geyser Basin pretty early in the day, so the Grand Prismatic Spring was quite steamy and hard to see and photograph from the ground level. We are older, and didn’t feel able to take the long trail to the observation point. Still the colors were beautiful, and we enjoyed the time we spent there. We noticed lots of other interesting things, such as the multi-colored algaes in the runoff waters. This pool has been one of my favorite features since I was a child, so I was somewhat disappointed that the boardwalk did not go clear around the pool like it did when we had come many years ago. I suppose this is because of safety issues. The huge Excelsior Geyser crater was also quite covered with steam, although I’ve never seen it not steamy. The Firehole River is beautiful along this basin, and the runoff coming down into the river is host to beautiful cascades coated with the heat-loving micro-organisms. The walk around the basin is easy, and all boardwalk.
