Ballarat Wildlife Park的点评
点评：i went to ballarat wildlife park today and i left feeling incredibly uncomfortable. first of all there were numerous crocodiles confined to small, concrete enclosures, with shallow water. the length of the pool was nearly the same length as the crocodile. the croc would get in the water and then poke around at the concrete walls as if it was trying to get out. i know what an ethical and kind croc enclosure, and a crocs natural habitat, looks like, and that wasn’t it. there were lots of free roaming kangaroos, one joey and its mum were being sorrounded, cornered, inappropriately handled, and harrassed by screaming toddlers and children, and parents encouraging it for a good photo they can post on facebook. not a wildlife ranger/employee in sight to supervise. then i saw the dingoes. two of them were in separate fenced enclosures which looked okayish, and they were both pacing around which can be a sign of stress. there was nowhere written on the signage an explanation as to why they are being held in captivity, (the same goes for many other prisoners there), and why they were separated. while all of these conditions are technically legal to confine an animal to, i would argue it being ethical, morally right or in the animals best interest.
