点评:We visited the reserve in late September, so certain things were not in full bloom. We were met at the gate by a very pleasant young woman who asked if we had a reservation. We did not, but she assured that was no problem. She gave us a laminated card which we were told to hand in at the visitor center/gift shop. The parking lot was less than half full. We handed the card to the woman in the shop, who then told us to go to a kiosk to buy our tickets, which for some reason were $5 more than listed on the website ( perhaps that price only was for advance tickets?). After purchasing the tickets she told us to bring the receipt to her, and she then marked it with a yellow marker. We could now enter!
The reserve itself was fairly nice. It should be noted that while it is said to be 140 acres, much of that acreage is basically lawns and forest trails, and several ponds. The actual garden portions are fairly small. Several areas were closed. Most of the pollinator garden was covered with a black tarp, which they said was for the purpose of killing invasive plants. The Japanese garden area was very nice.
It took about an hour and a half to tour the entire complex. It was reasonably pleasant but seemed a bit overpriced.
