点评:Gdańsk Old Town is absolutely beautiful — colourful façades, grand churches and a real sense of history at every turn. It’s especially impressive knowing how meticulously the area was rebuilt after the war; it feels authentic without ever tipping into “theme park” territory. There’s plenty to take in, from the waterfront to the narrow streets, and the history is genuinely fascinating.
One practical note for anyone visiting with young children: the Old Town is very cobbled. We brought our main pram with proper suspension and sprung wheels, and even then it was a bit of a workout. Not a complaint at all — just something to be aware of if you’re travelling with a pram or buggy.
I’d also add that despite seeing some reviews suggesting English visitors aren’t always well received, that wasn’t our experience at all. Everyone we encountered was friendly, helpful and welcoming.
Overall, a stunning place to wander, soak up the atmosphere and learn some history — just maybe plan accordingly if you’ve got wheels rather than feet.
