Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada的点评
点评：The Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada is at Winnipeg Airport. It was an interesting museum. I went up to the second floor and took panoramic photos of the exhibits on the ground floor. There are also outdoor exhibits. (The labels for the outdoor exhibits are inside the museum building, but are not easy to find. One of them as missing entirely.)
The Air Canada plane in my photo is a Vickers VC2 Viscount, 1958. It was the first aircraft to be powered by turboprop engines. I could climb the steps and go inside that plane. I saw the interior and the cockpit.
The Avro Canada VZ-9 Avrocar was made in 1958. It looks like a flying saucer! It was part of a top-secret U.S. Air Force project to develop a supersonic fighter capable of vertical liftoff and landing.
If you have time at the airport, this is a good way to spend that time. Note that the museum is best accessed by walking across the parking lot rather than following the perimeter road.
