Royal Canadian Mint的点评
点评：I had an outstanding visit to the Royal Canadian Mint in Winnipeg and want to highlight how exceptional my guide, Cade, was during the tour. His passion for coins and for the Mint’s work was evident from the very beginning. He explained every step of the process with clarity, enthusiasm, and genuine love for the craft.
It was fascinating to learn how Canadian coins go from sheets of metal to the finished coins we use every day, and even more impressive to discover that the Winnipeg Mint also produces circulation coins for countries around the world. I had no idea that every Canadian circulation coin since 1984 has been made here.
Cade’s knowledge was remarkable — he answered every question with ease and added humor throughout the tour. His comment about Mint employees being able to say “I make money” when asked what they do for a living was especially memorable. He was attentive, kind, and clearly committed to making the experience enjoyable for everyone.
A particularly thoughtful moment was when he exchanged one of my regular $2 coins for a Queen Elizabeth II mourning toonie with the black band — a coin I hadn’t known existed until he showed the exhibit. It was a simple exchange, but it meant a lot.
The facility itself is fascinating, and I’m so glad I ended up there, almost by chance, after breakfast nearby. I had originally thought it was located downtown, but it’s just outside the city and absolutely worth the trip.
Highly recommended — the tour is well worth the $12 admission, and Cade is an exceptional guide who made the entire experience memorable.
