点评:As a kid, I was a complete sucker for science museums. So, when we had the opportunity to take my niece and nephews (aged 9, 7, 4, and 1) to the Liberty Science Museum, I was psyched!
The kids had a blast! The museum is clearly geared for younger kids, and they had so much fun running around and playing through all of the exhibits. The museum is very big and interactive, and kept the kids busy for hours. We were there all afternoon until closing time, and the kids didn't want to leave.
There was one thing I was rather unpleasantly surprised about (and the reason I took off one star): Where is all the science?! For a place that's called a "science center", they did a remarkably poor job explaining the science behind many of the exhibits. The "touch tunnel" (a pitch dark maze), the model train exhibit, and the Thomas the Tank Engine exhibit were smash hits with the kids, but none of these even remotely attempted to educate the kids about science. Not even a placard or short video explaining the basics of train engineering or basic science about light. I was pretty disappointed.
All in all, the Liberty Science Center is a great place to spend a couple of hours with young children. Kids will have a blast, though the adults and teenagers will likely be pretty bored. Not the most educational science museum I've been to, but certainly a fun spot that the children will enjoy.
