点评:I was interested in a day tour to Tsavo East National Park from Mombasa. I didn't want to be packed into a small van with a horde of other tourist, so I looked for an individual tour.
I contacted Blissgames by email an heard back from Ann after a few days. She offered my a tour either with a van or a Landcruise. I picked the Landcrusier, although it was more expensive. From that moment on we where in constant contact by Email. All questions where answered in a timely manner, just payment was a bit difficulat as the Pensapal web page would not accept my phone number. So I had to make up a Kenyan phone number. As I was paying by credit card, the number was of no relevance anyway.
After that there where no further problems. Unlike other tour operators, the entrance fee to the park was included in the price, so I did not have to fiddle around with the Kenya eCitizen Portal to book park entry.
Ann contacted my a few days before the tour, asking for a phone number and confirmed pickup location and time the day before by phone. Pickup was on time at five in the morning. She picked me up together with the driver Mr. Enock and off we went on the dark and bumpy roads towards Tsawo East. We left Mombasa at 5 in the morning and arrived at the Park Entrance around half past seven.
Entrance to the park took a while, as their ticketing system was broken down, but hey, this is Kenya, so pole pole and hakuna matata.
Finally we enterd the park and startet the search for wildlife. Mr. Enock was very good at it and spotted animals far away while negotiating the rugged roads. He spotted animals which I had problems to locate with binoculars (which where provided). Ann assited me in finding and identifying the animals. For example, I just saw two dark points far away and Mr. Enock told me, that there where two ostriches, the male standing and the female lying down.
So we went on through the humongues park spotting more and more animals like elefants, zebras, lions, anilopes and buffalos. For lunch break we went to the Ashnil Aruba Lodge in the park. Quite an adventure to have lunch while watching elefants coming by.
After lunch the safari went on. But in the afternoon there where not so much animals to see, as it was getting hot for them, too. The biggest adventure was yet to come, the way back to Mombasa, on the so called Highway of Death between Nairobi and Mombasa. The road was packed. But Mr. Enock did not hesitate to drive off the road to get past congestions and accidents. For a Landcruiser everything is road, even the busy sidewalks.
So we where back in Mombasa at 6 pm, just as planned. It was an exciting but also exhausting day,
