Valley of the Temples的点评
点评：So, if you go to Sicily for the history, this place has to be right up at the top of the list and you don't need me to tell you why it's there. I'll limit myself to some suggestions and tips, after our visit this year.
- We went in early October. This is, by all accounts, a good time to go as the weather is likely to be fine (it was) without the oppressive heat of summer.
- Take water. Although there is a decent cafe half way round, you'll welcome refreshment en route.
- Allow a good couple of hours for the visit. More if you're particularly interested in Greek temples. Less if you're not interested but, if that's the case, why have you bothered?
- It's a fair walk from one end of the site to the other. If you don't want to retrace your steps, there's a little shuttle which you can take (it costs) to get back. The site slopes from one end to the other, so if you're only going to walk one way, make sure you start from the high end.
- You won't be able to avoid tour groups in the morning, but the site is so big you just have to wait for them to move on. Afternoons are quieter, group-wise.
