点评:As a professional hiker and nature enthusiast, I found this disappointing.
The whole walk (around 10 km from the furthest paid parking area) is on brand new asphalt. It felt much more like walking through a park than going on a hike. Since the road is built for cars, it didn't provide the hiking experience I was expecting and was extremely crowded throughout the day.
The portable toilets along the road had a very strong unpleasant smell that could be noticed before reaching them. Unfortunately, this affected the experience in that area.
The scenery was nice, with a few beautiful waterfalls, mountain views and some snow still visible. However, the lake was surrounded by hundreds of visitors, so it lacked the peaceful atmosphere I usually look for in nature.
There were signs at the beginning asking visitors to keep to the right, but many people ignored them, making it difficult for faster walkers to pass and creating unnecessary congestion.
We arrived early, but the first two parking areas were already full, so we had to start from the third one. The walk to the lake took us less than two hours at a brisk pace. Interestingly, when we returned, spaces had become available in the closest parking area while the third one was full, so arriving very early may actually mean a longer walk.
Because the road is fully paved, I almost wish parking were available closer to the lake, leaving more energy for those planning to continue to Rysy. After walking 10 km on the road, adding another four-hour mountain ascent can feel like a bit much.
On the positive side, the route is very accessible for people with reduced mobility or families with strollers. We also spotted a white-tailed deer on the way and a spotted nutcracker near the lake, which was a highlight. Overall, however, I found the route too crowded, too developed and not particularly relaxing or challenging as a hike.
