点评:This was an unplanned stop on our wandering that was unexpectedly more than a drop in. We have always driven by on route 9 but never visited- what a shame. We perused the gift store with a chat with the pleasant gentlemen employee.
Wandered around looking at the train cars and were so fortunate to be there when the train was pulling in! Whistle, steam and clanging bell! How nostalgic.
Wait it gets better! There was hand machine work going on in the yard that we were watching. The engine was being inspected and rebuilt. One of the young men, Elijah, came over and happily spoke with us. How lucky for us!!! He was well spoken, friendly and was a wealth of knowledge about the engineering of the steam engine. We had an in depth schooling on the mechanics of the steam engine. Thank you Elijah! We appreciated it.
We didn't have time for a train ride this time. This was the best FREE experience!
If you have children or yourself are interested in steam engines or locomotives, go visit! Dont wait! And take the ride too
