点评：We bought tickets online, and they're valid for seven consecutive days after your first visit. We arrived as early as possible, and parking was easy, though there was a light April drizzle. We stopped at the visitor center, where they provided us with a map with routes of varying lengths (from one hour to three hours walk). You can choose any, and any hiking trail will lead you to the waterfall. The first observation deck is about five minutes from the center. There are two more not too far apart, and they offer more impressive views.
After exploring the beautiful, turbulent waterfalls of the Potomac River, we took our two-hour walk through the trails. Despite the fact that the snack bar is located in the courtyard of the visitor center, I recommend bringing your own picnic. While walking through the park, you will find many benches and tables where you can relax and enjoy a meal in the fresh air. This park is not only famous for its natural beauty and waterfall, but also has historical significance. Within the park, you can see the remains of the old town Matildaville dating back to 1790. Today, footpath through the quiet woods to remnants of Matildaville and the Patowmack Canal.
