点评：I've always loved HS and have been a supporter since high school, That's more than 45 years of productions. Graduated in 1977 after seeing plays sponsored by the school. Now 66 years old I never stopped going. My opinion is that they've gotten away from the "Art"and more of a commercial venue. I've seen fantastic productions in the past, some breathtaking. Now I go sparingly in the past few years only because of the type of shows they offer. More commercial, fewer original shows and more built more on just raising money not promoting the craft. Question? How many christmas shows can you have after 20 years? When do we put shakespeare away and offer something NEW and exciting around the holidays? I love HS but it's not something that I put at the top of my list after so many years. To be 100% honest Theater Works is what HS used to be, and 90 % of the shows I see there. I've seen Olympia Dukakis, Richard Thomas and Hal Holbrook all on the same stage at HS. Shows like "Our town" "the Milk train doesn't come here anymore" and Peer Gynt. Great performances not just because they are celebrities but for the "Art " form. This year they're doing "Dracula" for Halloween. Come on... is that commercialism? I will continue to support HS after looking through the seasons but it's tough for real aficionados to enjoy something great that's' been compromised.
