奥尔顿塔的点评
点评：We have been to Alton Towers so many times and each time we try to stay somewhere different.
This time we stayed in Splash Landings Hotel. We were there for 1 over night. Our plan was to arrive early morning and go straight to the waterpark and check in later. We drove 255 miles to be here, arrive 10.30am for our booking at 11am. We were delighted that this visit, the outdoor area was open so we got to have the whole experience. All staff were very nice, helpful also if you needed assistance. Queue's were not too bad for the flumes, it was not overly busy on this day. Pool temperature and air temperature was comfortable and more importantly, the facilities were very clean. The prices for food and drinks i would say are on the high side especially as we had 11 in our group. Kids are always hungry so we opted to bring our own. We did not use the showers at the end as they were cold, no heat in them. Waited until we checked in at the hotel. We really enjoyed the waterpark, our only mistake was we did not book the photo pass to get the flume pictures. We left at around 3.30pm so we had a full day in the park, then went to our rooms to check in.
Staff again, very pleasant and very helpful. We chose 2 beachcomber rooms to accommodate our party size and so we could be next to each other. The rooms were so clean, decor was lovely, fresh towels, iron, iron board, kettle, tra, coffee, biscuits, fan etc everything required. Beds were fresh, comfy and the room a good size to fit 6 people. There was a little entertainment at night for the kids, arcade and bar open till about 11pm. Only downfall was the cocktail glasses do not have a chip to activate the glass for a free refill hahaha staff would not accommodate on this request either so we opted to buy another hahaha We had a great time. Only warning I would have liked was how cheeky your thieving birds are, I sat my pre-made sandwichs on the ledge, outside, to keep them cold and the birds stole them haha hope they enjoyed.
We had dinner pre-booked at the roller coaster cafe which is always a win for the kids, how your meal is given to you on the roller coaster is so much fun. Meal is lovely, drinks are good, again it is on the higher side with the price.
Booked breakfast for 7:45am which i would advise, or you are left standing waiting in a queue. You can book at the restaurant till 10pm the night before. We got seated straight away. Breakfast is delicious, a good enough selection for everyone, freshly replaced as soon as something was finished, never had to wait and you can really fill up for the day ahead, especially for people who now have no sandwiches for lunch as they were stolen by flying thieves haha staff can not be faulted they were all wonderful.
Checked out, day 2 was the theme park. Perk of staying with the hotels are the kids park tickets are include, it is a 2 day ticket but we only used 1 day as we chose to buy waterpark tickets. You also get access to the park 1 hour early. This is the part that disappointed us. You arrive at 9am to be held in a queue outside till 9.30am. Once you get through bag checks you are faced with another queue. When we finally got in we then realised it was not access onto the rides, we were faced with another queue. Rides do not open till 10am so the early access was a disappointment. What would have been good was 1 hour access to the rides, before everyone else arrived. Thst what it used to be. Was a waste of time for us, rushing down there early. The park this year was a bit of a let down. We have a mixed range of children from 4yrs, 8yrs, 9yrs, 10yrs, 15yrs, 18yrs and it is hard to chose rides are they are different heights. Older kids are fine and they got on all the rides, they had a ball. Same with the youngest as Cbeebies land is perfect. It is the middle age group that was slighltly too wee for rollercoasters and too big for Cbeebies land. Rapids were closed because of the time of year, runaway mine train for maintenance, haunted house didn't open till 11am so we were too early and then never managed back. Would be better if the park rides all opened at the same time and 5pm close would be better. Queue times were no longer than 30 mins so was perfect for the rest of us. Toilets were reasonable, it is expected when it is busy but the staff were in regular trying to keep on top of it. They were not too bad, just depends when you were in. I saw staff a few times and I had been in after they were cleaned and they were good. We chose the refill cups "which have a chip unlike the cocktail glasses" for the kids, plenty of places to refill. £18 new or £12 to reactivate the chip. We have them from previous trips so £12 to reactivate for the whole day is great.
We arrived at the shop for the kids to choose something, as always, there is a lot of merchandise. Kids quickly choose, the massive queue went quickly as every till was open, staff were very quick.
We rushed over the finally got access to the mini golf. We have never managed to get over in time and we made it by the skin of our teeth. We had attempted it on the first day but it was closed. We thoroughly enjoyed it and was a good way to finish our trip. Took us over an hour to complete as it was quite busy. Overall experience, was very good.

工作人员一如既往地热情友好，乐于助人。我们选择了两间海滩小屋，这样既能满足我们一行人的需求，又能保证彼此相邻。房间非常干净，装饰也很漂亮，配备了干净的毛巾、熨斗、熨衣板、水壶、茶、咖啡、饼干、风扇等等，应有尽有。床铺干净舒适，房间大小也合适，足够六个人住。晚上有儿童娱乐活动，游戏厅和酒吧营业到晚上11点左右。唯一的不足是鸡尾酒杯没有芯片，无法免费续杯，哈哈。工作人员也不愿意满足我们的这个要求，所以我们只好自己买了一个，哈哈。我们玩得很开心。我唯一希望事先知道的就是，你们这儿的鸟儿太调皮了，我把提前做好的三明治放在外面的窗台上保冷，结果还是被鸟儿们偷走了，哈哈，希望它们吃得开心。
我们提前在过山车咖啡厅预订了晚餐，孩子们总是很喜欢，在过山车上用餐真的很有趣。饭菜很美味，饮料也不错，不过价格确实偏高。
我预订了早上7:45的早餐，建议大家也提前预订，不然就得排队等候。餐厅可以提前一晚预订，截止到晚上10点。我们很快就入座了。早餐很美味，种类丰富，每个人都能找到自己喜欢的，而且每吃完一个都会马上补充，从来不用等，可以吃饱，为接下来的一天做好准备，尤其是对于那些午餐没三明治可吃的人来说，因为三明治被这些“飞贼”偷走了，哈哈。餐厅员工无可挑剔，他们都非常热情友好。
退房后，第二天去了主题公园。住在酒店的福利是包含儿童乐园门票，虽然是两日票，但我们只用了一天，因为我们买了水上乐园的票。酒店还提供提前一小时入园的特权。但这恰恰让我们失望了。早上9点到达后，我们排了9点半的队。过了安检之后，还要再排一次队。好不容易进去之后，我们才发现提前入园并不是直接玩游乐设施，而是要排另一队。游乐设施要到10点才开放，所以提前入园完全是浪费时间。如果能提前一小时玩游乐设施，在其他人到来之前就好了。以前就是这样。对我们来说，早早赶到完全是浪费时间。今年的乐园有点让人失望。我们带的孩子年龄跨度很大，从4岁到18岁都有，身高也各不相同，所以很难选择游乐设施。大一点的孩子玩得很开心，所有项目都玩了个遍。最小的孩子也玩得很开心，CBeebies乐园对他们来说正合适。问题出在中年组，他们个子稍微小了点，玩不了过山车，个子又太大了，CBeebies乐园对他们来说太小了。激流勇进因为季节原因关闭了，失控矿车在维修，鬼屋要到上午11点才开放，所以我们去得太早了，之后就没再去了。如果所有游乐设施都能同时开放，下午5点关门就更好了。排队时间不超过30分钟，对我们其他人来说刚刚好。厕所还算可以，人多的时候人多也是意料之中的，但工作人员一直在努力清理。还不错，只是取决于你什么时候去。我几次看到店员，而且我去的时候他们刚打扫过，服务挺好的。我们给孩子们选了可以续杯的杯子（跟鸡尾酒杯不一样，这种杯子有芯片），续杯的地方很多。新杯子18英镑，激活芯片12英镑。我们之前来的时候就买过，所以12英镑激活一天很划算。
我们到店里是让孩子们挑东西，和往常一样，商品琳琅满目。孩子们很快就选好了，长长的队伍也移动得很快，因为每个收银台都开着，店员动作也很麻利。
我们一路狂奔，终于赶上了迷你高尔夫。之前我们从未成功过，这次真是险些错过。第一天我们也想去，可惜关门了。我们玩得非常开心，这真是结束旅程的完美方式。因为人很多，我们花了超过一个小时才打完。总的来说，体验非常棒。
