A Fantastic Family Fishing Experience with Vagelis!

点评：We had an amazing afternoon with Paragadi Fishing Trips in Rethymno, led by Vagelis. Vagelis is a former fisherman who now runs private and small-group fishing trips. From start to finish, it was a brilliant experience for our whole family.
Vagelis provided all the fishing gear, bait and plenty of expert advice to make sure we had a successful trip. We caught lots of red snapper and our kids absolutely loved every minute! It was such a thrill for them to fish out at sea after catching the fishing bug earlier this year!
The trip was due to last three hours (starting at 2 p.m.) but, as the kids were enjoying so much, Vagelis kindly extended it and turned it into a full afternoon and evening. After returning to the marina, he expertly cooked our catch for us right there by the water. He used fresh oil and took great care to cook my husband’s fish separately first, as he’s a coeliac, which we really appreciated. Then we enjoyed our impromptu alfresco meal with a bottle of wine and some food from a local barbecue takeout.
We booked the boat just for our family but it can take up to eight passengers and even has a toilet on board.
During the trip Vagelis provided all soft drinks & water plus he surprised us with a delicious Greek snack called spanakopita that he brought for us to try. Delicious btw! Vagelis’s hospitality and kindness really made the experience special.
It was an unforgettable sea-to-plate experience for the children, catching their own fish, learning from a real fisherman and then enjoying the meal they’d helped bring in from the sea.
It was a truly memorable day with beautiful weather, great fishing, wonderful food and a genuine local guide who clearly loves the sea and what he does. Highly recommended for families, couples or anyone looking for an authentic, fun day on the water in Rethymno, Crete.
