The Route 66 sojourn is an ongoing project, you can't really do it all at once effectively

点评：We occasionally post pictures here when we complete sections of Route 66. This year we did Hollbrook, Arizona to Flagstaff as well as Albuquerque, New Mexico to Los Angeles. The Albuquerque, New Mexico section was on the train. Route 66 parallels the Amtrak Southwest Chief Rail Route (The Historic Santa Fe Trail) so we got an overview by taking the train from Chicago, Illinois to Los Angeles, California. Unfortunately, we did not see a lot of it because this section of our rail voyage was in the dark. Route 66 will be 100 years old next year and we hope to finish and review some sections. It is very difficult to finish it all at one time. First of all, you get bogged down looking for things (it's like a giant scavenger hunt), things are seasonal, things are not open when you are there, things have closed, and buildings are gone. Many of the things are coming back such as the giants that have been repaired. Several of them are now in a museum in Illinois along the route.
