点评:My first get out of the car stop on my Big Sur road trip was Pfeiffer Beach with its pinkish-purplish sand, and though it does require a day fee, I though it was totally worth visiting, especially first thing in the morning (when it’s quiet and calm) before everyone else shows up and they close it off because it reaches capacity (Also the 2.5 mile road down is easier with less cars because it’s very narrow).
Although Pfeiffer Beach seems like a simple place to get to, because cell phones don’t always work great and the entrance is easy to miss.
All of the sand at Pfeiffer Beach isn’t perfectly colored pink or purple, but there are spots throughout where you can definitely see the pink-ish/purple-ish color.
I only had a day to drive through this part of Northern California, but along with the elephant seal stop towards the end of Big Sur, Pfeiffer Beach was one of my favorite stops because it was such a secluded and untouched piece of nature with beautiful views and colored sand.
