点评：Clipstone Headstocks, a must visit.
What has been a decaying blot on the landscape for years is now turning into a venue that the people of Clipstone can be proud of once again. This is all down to the vision and hard work of Stuart and Jules assisted by a handful of volunteers.
They have stopped the decaying of this historical mine and created a museum dedicated to the hard working mining community. There knowledge is evident when you go on one of the tours and listen to Stuart's re creation of a typical working shift that the local miner's would endure.
Stuart has also researched the history of the army camp that was based on the same site, plus all of the local manufacturers that sadly are no longer with us. He has cleverly weaved all of this into the tour. You will see and hear all about the extensive collection of military vehicles and equipment he has gathered,plus so much more. I have also been to many of the events that they have organised to raise funds for the ongoing project, Fireworks displays, Music events, Food festivals, Military events and so much more, se their website for up and coming events for 2025.
I would hope that local authorities can see what this brings to the community and support it with what ever help they can raise.
I'm looking forward to many more visits this year. Hope to see you there, you won't be disappointed.
