点评：During the summer time, we crossed Lake Champlain from Charlotte to Essex, New York. The ferry was moderately crowded. We were able to talk to one of the staff members about the ferry. He explained that it even operates in the winter time when part of the lake freezes up, we found that interesting. Anyhow, once the car is loaded onto the ferry, you get to walk around and can even go upstairs to get a good view. This ferry is a simple way to have a pleasurable experience. With a light breeze, you get to enjoy the view of the lake. We had one car and three people, the total cost was roughly $22, a very moderate expense. One thing which surprised us was that there is a lack of interesting activities in the Essex area, there is really not much else to do other than to drive for a couple of hours to reach tourist destinations within New York State.
