点评:Just moved home to Lansing after being gone for over 30 years - decided to get back out on the River Trail. It did not disappoint! Mid-Michigan is such a beautiful area, and I really forgot how much I used to love the trail. Yes, as some have mentioned, there are a few areas that need some attention (as with anything), but overall it's a fantastic urban trail system that covers nearly the entire metro area. I generally begin at the Old Town area and walk, cycle or ride (scooter) out to East Lansing/MSU area. It's a terrific way to see the Red Cedar and Grand Rivers. I was just out again yesterday and noticed there were several locations being repaired and there were city crews out cleaning up from winter. The homeless camps I saw before have been removed and cleaned up in several areas and it feels much nicer now. I'm hoping to see city crews out performing other maintenance and trimming/mowing the weeds to make the trail even better - not going to hold my breath for that, but we'll see! I also try to volunteer as I find the time and this seems like a great project for that. This trail is a treasure for the citizens of Lansing to enjoy!
