点评：I have had the pleasure of visiting The Junction multiple times, and I always find myself returning for various reasons. First and foremost, the beer selection is excellent, complemented by a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. The staff and locals contribute to an environment where engaging in conversation with anyone is encouraged, making it a fantastic spot to meet new people.
The pub is also dog-friendly, which is an excellent touch. However, during the busy Friday and Saturday nights, it can get quite crowded, which might deter some dog owners. Noise levels can be pretty high during these peak times, so if you prefer a quieter experience, consider visiting during the week or earlier on Saturday or Sunday. Wednesday nights can also attract a decent crowd.
When it comes to the beer, The Junction excels with six cask ales that are in permanent rotation. This includes at least one dark/ruby ale, one stout/porter, and one bitter, along with a variety of pale ales, IPAs, and EPAs. It's also commendable that at least one of the cask ales is gluten-free. Furthermore, they offer two lagers (one of which is gluten-free), one keg cider, and four ciders from barrels, often featuring a Perry. The commitment to sourcing casks, kegs, and ciders locally from Derbyshire and Staffordshire is impressive, and they occasionally have guest options as well.
The recent introduction of various canned beers, including additional stouts, gluten-free options, sours, and a good range of zero and low-alcohol beers, is a notable enhancement. The pub also offers a well-rounded selection of spirits, including local options, as well as a limited selection of wines and fruit wines.
For those who prefer mass-produced beers like Carlsberg-Marston's, Greene King, or Guinness, the other two pubs in Stretton might be a better fit. However, if you're in search of a quality pint from a local brewery at a fair price, The Junction is undoubtedly the place to be.
