点评：I don’t usually leave reviews, but I feel I should share my experience to warn other travellers and surfers.
I booked a surf lesson with Febryan in June. He arrived late, and after only 5–10 minutes in the water, he said my board was too small for my current fitness and skill level. As I was flying home the next day, we agreed to continue the lesson when I returned to Bali in September.
He then offered to help me purchase a suitable surfboard through a local shaper/dealer he claimed to know personally. I trusted him and transferred IDR 2.25 million for the board deposit and another IDR 800,000 for a travel bag. The following day, he told me he had met the dealer, paid the deposit, and that my board would soon be shaped.
After that, the communication changed. Instead of providing updates about my board, he began telling me about various personal problems and asking to borrow money. He later claimed that his housemate had stolen his savings.
I became concerned and decided to verify the board order directly with the dealer. The dealer told me there was no order under my name and that they had never received any payment from Febryan. I was also told that although Febryan had previously enquired about boards, he had never actually placed an order or made payment.
I subsequently asked Febryan several times for proof or updates. However, I never received a receipt, confirmation from the shaper, photos of the board being made, or any other evidence that the order existed. Instead, I continued receiving excuses and explanations about his personal circumstances.
What disappointed me most was the lack of honesty and transparency. I trusted him as a surf instructor and relied on what he told me, only to have to independently verify the information myself.
If you are considering booking a lesson with him or allowing him to arrange a board purchase, I strongly recommend doing your own due diligence. Verify any board order directly with the shop/shaper and be very careful about transferring money upfront.

He contacted me and said, “See you in Bali.” Given the circumstances and the fact that I had just publicly shared my experience with him, I found this message intimidating and perceived it as a possible threat. Whether that was his intention or not, it was completely inappropriate and unprofessional. Instead of addressing my concerns, providing evidence, or resolving the outstanding refund, responding in this manner came across as intimidating and, in my view, very hooligan-like and unprofessional behaviour. This is not the kind of conduct I would expect from someone presenting himself as a professional surf instructor dealing with customers.
This is not a fake review and I have proofs of conversations from day 1 until present.
