点评：The train ride from Nanu Oya to Ella was one of the highlights of our trip through Sri Lanka. The journey took about 2 hours and 15 minutes on a clean, newer train, winding through the scenic hill country with spectacular views almost the entire way.
The route climbs through the central highlands, passing lush tea plantations, towering trees, misty hills, waterfalls, and charming villages. Much of the journey is at elevations of around 2,000 to 2,500 metres (6,500 to 8,200 feet) above sea level, giving you incredible panoramic views and cool mountain air.
Like many travelers, people were leaning out of the open train doors to take photos and enjoy the scenery. While it makes for amazing pictures, it's important to be careful and stay aware of your surroundings.
Local vendors came through the train selling snacks and drinks. We picked up fresh peanuts and a hot cup of Sri Lankan tea, which made the ride even more enjoyable.
If you're visiting Sri Lanka, this is an experience worth making time for. The combination of breathtaking scenery, local atmosphere, and relaxed pace makes the Nanu Oya to Ella train ride one of the country's most memorable journeys.
