点评：Berkeley Springs is the “Country’s First Spa” town. Located in West Virginia, this town was named Bath when founded in the 18th century. And it is still a resort town that celebrates the medicinal power of bathing. Berkeley Springs is still well known town full of local artists, spas, and healing water! This a beautiful and historic town set in the mountains of West Virginia. It’s has a very small walkable state park too. The state park has a Bathhouse museum is fun with some interesting content about the nation’s first spa. Visitors can purchase for a dollar a gallon fill up the spring water. This place is so beautiful. Staff are very helpful and friendly. If you just want to experience the spring water you can definitely do it for free, and the rest of the small park is nice for just enjoying some nature in the little downtown. The freedom to enjoy the park grounds and springs are awesome. There's also a paid Roman House, a paid access spa, and a paid access bath house where you can soak in heated spring water if you have the time. Definitely make reservations for the spa and bathhouse. It's the perfect place to get away and relax. Even George Washington bathed here (literally, you can still see the original George Washington Bathtub inside the park grounds). It makes for a great weekend escape, combining culture with accessible natural springs for bathing, a spa, and various events: Arts in the Park, Saturday Farmer’s Market and famous Apple Butter Festival. Mountain Laurel is a must visit for shopping local artisan products and a chance to purchase locally made Apple Butter. After soaking in the history, you can head out to the nearby mountains for sweeping views. Prospect Peak is a panoramic overlook that stands nearly one thousand feet above the Potomac River, providing a breathtaking vista of the surrounding West Virginia landscape.
