We hired a quad bike and returned it as agreed, only to be charged an additional fee for allegedly going off-road. We absolutely did not take the quad bike off-road. We explained this clearly when questioned and pointed out that other users were also travelling along the same roads.
The only evidence they seemed to rely on was dust on the wheels, which is hardly proof that the bike had been used off-road.
What made the situation even more frustrating was being asked, **“Can you read English?”** after we repeatedly explained that we had not gone off-road. We found this comment extremely disrespectful and unnecessary.
Looking back, we feel we should have taken photos or videos during the hire to prove that we stayed on the roads, as we never expected to have to defend ourselves against a charge based simply on dust being found on the wheels.
We were very disappointed with the way the situation was handled and with being charged for something we did not do. If you’re hiring from this company, I would strongly recommend taking plenty of photos and videos before, during and after your hire.
Unfortunately, this experience left a very bad impression, and we would not hire from them again.
